Some natural over-the-counter diet pills are safer than some prescriptions. However, this may not always be true. Sometimes though, the use of natural herbs to lose weight is a matter of acceptance.

Of course, many people prefer diet pills that have ingredients in them approved by the FDA. However, under certain circumstances they are sold as supplements even if not government approved. In this case, here are some signs that an herb is safe:

  • A majority of people who have used it have not yet reported any side effects.
  • The plant source has been widely accepted as a method of weight loss.
  • Extensive positive consumer feedback has been given about specific herbs or diet pills.
  • The product is manufactured and marketed by reputable organizations.

Word of mouth is also a great indicator. You can never be too sure about an herb or weight loss supplements. However, at least a few diet pills truly are safe.
